Serve as a lead learning specialist for the UT High School math program by designing and facilitating online courses and exams and coordinating support to ensure student success.
Instructional Design & Course Development Design and develop engaging online courses, assessments, and instructional materials aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Apply best practices in online learning to create content that supports diverse student needs using tools such as Canvas and other educational technologies.
Instructional Support & Program Coordination Provide instructional guidance and support to teachers and adjunct instructors by developing resources, systems, and communication processes that promote effective instruction, timely feedback, and accurate grading. Support the coordination and continuous improvement of instructional programs.
Assessment & Credit by Exam Administration Design, review, and maintain credit by exams and final assessments, ensuring alignment with TEKS and compliance with state requirements. Support audit processes, respond to stakeholder inquiries, and coordinate exam delivery using online proctoring systems.
Student Support, Collaboration & Outreach Monitor student progress and outcomes to inform support strategies, including tutoring and intervention resources. Proctor STAAR and AP exams. Collaborate across teams and with external partners to improve programs, support student success, and contribute to training, communication, and outreach efforts.
Master's degree in education, mathematics, or a closely related field and five years of secondary teaching experience, or bachelor's degree and seven years of secondary teaching experience. Texas Teacher Certification in Mathematics 7-12 and at least three years of experience teaching secondary mathematics courses in Texas public schools. Experience designing instruction and assessments for high school mathematics courses. Comprehensive understanding of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), STAAR expectations, and best practices in mathematics instruction and assessment. Experience implementing support for a variety of student group needs, including English Language Learners, Gifted/Talented, and special education. Successful experience supporting students to achieve targeted objectives and tracking and reporting student data. Experience with online instruction. Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task with high level of proficiency. Professional demeanor. Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
$60,000 + depending on qualifications
May work around standard office conditions. Use of manual dexterity. Position may require occasional work outside the normal work week. Must be able to push, pull, lift, and/or carry at least 30 lbs. Prolonged and repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. May require occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours. Work performed on concurrent multiple projects under pressure of rigid deadlines and/or time limitations.
