We are proud to announce several fully funded PhD positions in Australia through a distinguished collaboration between Zynthera and the University of Sydney, one of the world’s leading universities. The PhD degree will be awarded by the University of Sydney, with all tuition and research costs fully funded by Zynthera. These positions are open exclusively to international women applicants who are not applying to any other Zynthera PhD opportunity at the same time. The start date is September 1, 2026.

🎓 About the PhD Positions
Focus Areas:
Women’s Studies, Gender and Development, Business Management, Women’s Leadership in Organizations, Environmental Science, Water Chemistry, and Water Resources.
Research Themes Include:
• Women’s leadership in environmental sustainability.
• Water chemistry and treatment technologies with a gender-inclusive perspective.
• Policy and management strategies for advancing women’s roles in business and environmental governance.
Duration: 4 years
• 4 years of research at the University of Sydney.
Supervision:
Academic supervisors will be assigned following candidate selection. Virtual meetings will be arranged after the visa process to discuss the specific research plan in detail.

💰 Funding & Benefits
• Annual Stipend: AUD 40,000 (tax-exempt)
• Health Insurance: Fully covered for the duration of the program
• Relocation Allowance: Up to AUD 5,000
• Visa Costs: To be covered by the applicant (Zynthera will provide assistance with the process)
• University Tuition Fees: Fully covered by Zynthera

📝 Application Details
Selection Process:
• All communication will be conducted via email. Candidates will undergo a written evaluation by Zynthera.
• After visa approval, an online meeting with the assigned academic supervisor will take place to finalize the research scope.
Additional Step:
A mandatory online orientation will be conducted before arrival in Australia to introduce the research project, supervisors, and Zynthera guidelines.
Important Note: Due to the competitive nature of this program, shortlisting may begin as early as August 22, 2025. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply early.

📌 Eligibility
• Open exclusively to women applying from outside Australia.
• Applicants must not be applying simultaneously to any other PhD position offered by Zynthera.
• Degrees Accepted: Master’s in Women’s Studies, Gender and Development, Environmental Science, Chemistry (Water Chemistry), Business Administration, Management, or closely related fields.
• Language: Proficiency in English (official test scores may be required for admission and visa purposes).
• Commitment: Applicants should be ready to collaborate closely with Zynthera and may be considered for future professional roles within the company after graduation.
