🌏 Fully Funded PhD Opportunity in Australia | Zynthera in Partnership with the University of New South Wales (UNSW)

We are proud to announce a fully funded PhD position in Australia through a unique collaboration between Zynthera and the University of New South Wales (UNSW). The PhD degree will be awarded by UNSW, with all tuition and research costs covered by Zynthera. This position is open to international students only and is scheduled to start on June 1, 2026.
🎓 About the PhD Position
Focus Areas:
Water Quality, Water Resources Management, Environmental Chemistry, Hydrology, Water Treatment Technologies, Environmental Science, Computer Science, Remote Sensing, and Computer Science.
Research Themes Include:
• Assessment and improvement of water quality in New South Wales.
• Development and optimization of water treatment and purification methods.
• Hydrological analysis for water security and climate resilience.
• Remote sensing and AI-based predictive modelling for water quality management.
Duration: 4 years
Supervision:
The final academic supervisor will be assigned after the candidate is selected. An online meeting will be scheduled with the supervisor to discuss the research project in detail once the student has received the Visa.
💰 Funding & Benefits
• Annual Stipend: AUD 40,000 (tax-exempt)
• Health Insurance: Fully covered for the duration of the program
• Relocation Allowance: Up to AUD 5,000
• Visa Costs: To be covered by the applicant (Zynthera will assist with visa application and processing)
• University Tuition Fees: Fully covered by Zynthera
📝 Application Details
Selection Process:
• All communications will be conducted via email and a written evaluation will be conducted by Zynthera.
• An online meeting will be scheduled with the supervisor to discuss the research project in detail once the student has received the Visa.
Additional Step:
After the student has received their visa but before traveling to Australia, a mandatory online orientation session will be held to introduce the research project, supervisors, and company policies.
Important Note:
Due to the competitive nature of this program, shortlisting may begin as early as August 15, 2025. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply early.
📌 Eligibility
• Degrees Accepted: Master’s in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Water Resources, Civil/Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, Remote Sensing, or closely related fields.
• Language: Proficiency in English (language tests may be requested during the visa process).
• Commitment: Applicants should be willing to collaborate closely with Zynthera throughout their studies and may be offered postdoctoral or professional positions within the company after graduation.
