Contribution to Project (1)
Biomass Cell Disruption & Biorefinery Process (PhD Research) I invented and developed a patented continuous CO2 explosive decompression device. I successfully optimized this system to reduce processing time by 3 to 10 times and slashed energy consumption by 90%, all while maintaining the same level of biomass release efficiency. I demonstrated that my patented, chemical-free method could selectively release valuable proteins and lipids. My research also involved thoroughly characterizing the biochemical release profiles of microorganisms. I pioneered new analytical methods for downstream labs, such as a new model in flow cytometry, which cut down analysis times.
Contribution to Project (2)
VirusID (Healthcare AI) (in Fable Bio) I designed this pathogen detection system from the ground up, notably integrating the AI with physical hardware. I designed CBAM-STA CRNN structure for neural learning and biomedical signal processing. I led the system to achieve an accuracy rate of 91% during a clinical trial that included 3,500 patients. Through my optimization, the system can process tests in about one minute and costs less than two euros per test.
Contribution to Project (3)
Master's Research Projects During my time at Ege University, I researched bioremediation using exopolysaccharides produced by microalgae culture contaminants. This project lead to receive a national patent in Turkey. While at the Universidade do Minho, I worked on a project focused on increasing the bio-hydrogen production capacity of auto-immobilized microbial communities. I designed, optimized and executed all work including wet-lab and bioreactor design/optimization, downstream processes.
