My main research interest is in sustainable energy storage, specifically Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). Currently, Lithium-ion batteries are the most common, but they are becoming expensive and harder to produce. I am very interested in the potential of hard carbon to make Sodium-ion batteries a cheaper and safer alternative. During my studies, I realized that the biggest challenge is improving the materials used in these batteries. My goal for my Master’s thesis is to study how to improve these materials to make batteries last longer.
