The Cardiology Division of the University of California, San Francisco, is seeking a board-certified or eligible faculty candidate in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology for its growing program. The successful candidate will join a comprehensive, multidisciplinary program that provides the full spectrum of advanced heart failure care, including heart transplantation, temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support (MCS), cardiogenic shock management, and pulmonary hypertension management. Clinical responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient care of advanced heart failure, transplant, and MCS patients; participation in multidisciplinary transplant and MCS patient selection committees; and teaching and mentoring of medical students, residents, and fellows, including trainees in the ACGME-accredited Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology fellowship.
Qualifications • Education & Rank: Must hold an MD, MD/PhD, or MD/MPH degree and qualify for appointment at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. • Clinical Training: Formal fellowship training in both inpatient and outpatient management of advanced heart failure, heart transplantation, temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support (MCS) devices, and pulmonary hypertension. • Board Certification: Board certification or eligibility in Cardiovascular Disease and in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology (ABIM). • Licensure: Possession of, or eligibility for, a medical license in the State of California.
Preferred Qualifications • Interest and expertise in additional cardiology subspecialty areas, such as genetic or infiltrative cardiomyopathies, cardiac critical care, or pulmonary hypertension. • A strong background in clinical or translational research. • A demonstrated commitment to teaching, mentorship, and program development. • Interest in performing right heart catheterization, endomyocardial biopsies, and pulmonary artery pressure sensor implants

Salary and Rank: Appointment rank, series, and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, in accordance with University of California academic salary scales and the UCSF Health Sciences Compensation Plan.
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $118,800-$358,300. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
