Junior Specialist Position – University of California, San Francisco
The Department of Radiation Oncology at UCSF, in the laboratory of Dr. Anwar, is seeking a highly motivated scientist for a Junior Specialist position running imaging studies across in vitro and in vivo systems. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about advancing cancer imaging research.
Position Overview: The Specialist will assist in the testing of cancer imaging platforms developed in the Anwar Lab. We are looking for an organized, reliable individual to organize and execute imaging experiments, coordinate with vendors, graduate students/post-docs/lab members, and staff in the preclinical therapeutics cord. These experiments will include testing of imaging devices, microscopy, and conducting animal studies. Specialist will collaborate with other lab members, actively participate in lab meetings, and handle additional assigned tasks.
The responsibilities will also include performing data analyses and preparing presentations for lab meetings. Preparation of manuscripts is encouraged.

Required Qualifications: • BS or BA in materials science or electrical engineering or physics. • Laboratory experience; preferred: Experience in microfabrication. • Proficiency working with PC Board level electronics. • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Key Responsibilities: • Maintain detailed records and documentation of experiments and data. • Collect, analyze, and present results to the research team. • Perform testing of imaging platforms and manage in vitro and small animal imaging studies. • Collaborate effectively with other lab members to ensure project progress and organization. • Coordinate assembly of progress reports.
