Assistant Director, Communications And Outreach

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) trains doctors who put patients at the centre of their exemplary care. The School, which offers both undergraduate and graduate programmes, is named after local philanthropist Tan Sri Dato Lee Kong Chian. Established in 2010 by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in partnership with Imperial College London, LKCMedicine aims to be a model for innovative medical education and a centre for transformative research. The School's primary clinical partner is the National Healthcare Group, a leader in public healthcare recognised for the quality of its medical expertise, facilities and teaching. The School is transitioning to an NTU medical school ahead of the 2028 successful conclusion of the NTU-Imperial partnership to set up a Joint Medical School. In August 2024, we welcomed our first intake of the NTU MBBS programme, that has been recently enhanced to include themes like precision medicine and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare, with an expanded scope in the medical humanities. Graduates from the five-year undergraduate medical degree programme will have a strong understanding of the scientific basis of medicine, with an emphasis on technology, data science and the humanities.

The Assistant Director, Communications and Outreach, leads the strategic planning and execution of communications and event outreach initiatives that enhance LKCMedicine's visibility, reputation and engagement with prospective students, educators, healthcare partners and the wider community.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement integrated marketing communications, branding and outreach strategies that enhance LKCMedicine's reputation, visibility and engagement among prospective students, parents, partners and the wider community.
• Lead the conceptualisation, planning and execution of flagship events, admissions outreach programmes and brand activation initiatives, delivering high-quality experiences across physical and digital platforms. These outreach activities and community engagement events serve to showcase the School's strengths in medical education and research.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with junior colleges, polytechnics, healthcare institutions, community organisations and other strategic stakeholders to support student admissions and outreach objectives.
• Supervise the School's digital communications ecosystem, including its website, social media platforms and other digital channels. This includes content strategy and development, editorial planning, campaign execution, performance monitoring and optimisation to drive engagement and strengthen brand presence.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and evaluate the effectiveness of communications and outreach initiatives through data analytics, stakeholder feedback and participant insights, using findings to inform continuous improvement.
• Monitor emerging trends and best practices in communications, branding, student admissions, digital engagement and public outreach, and recommend innovative approaches to enhance the School's reputation, visibility and engagement.
• Manage event budgets, procurement processes and vendor relationships, ensuring programmes are delivered efficiently, within budget and in accordance with institutional policies and governance requirements.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, faculty members, students, alumni and external partners to ensure communications and outreach initiatives are aligned with the School's strategic priorities and institutional goals.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in event management, communications or partnership development.
• Well-versed in digital communications and possess excellent writing and editing skills.
• Creative and detail-oriented, with a proven track record in developing and executing initiatives from concept to delivery, including programme design, budgeting, logistics, marketing and evaluation.
• Strong project management and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting deadlines.
• Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse internal and external audiences.
