The Materials Science & Engineering Center at the Department of Biological & Chemical Engineering, Aarhus University, Denmark, invites applications for Assistant Professors. The successful candidate(s) will be affiliated with the Center's projects led by Prof. Dr. Anja-Verena Mudring and funded by the NovoNordisk Foundation.
The positions are 4-year positions from 1 January 2027 or as soon possible.
As an Assistant Professor of Materials Science & Engineering at our center, you are expected to conduct research at a high international level in the center's projects under the guidance of Prof. Anja-Verena Mudring. Your competences:
The Materials Science and Engineering Center at the Department of Biological and Chemical Engineering at Aarhus University, Denmark is a unit that is comprising materials synthesis, characterization and modelling. Its current focus is the investigation of ionic liquids and high temperature molten salts for engineering applications such as thermal energy storage and management, lubrication, molten salt reactor research as well as task-specific media for active pharmaceutical ingredient development.

This means that after the deadline for applications – and with the assistance from the assessment committee chairman, and the assessment committee if necessary, – the head of department selects the candidates to be evaluated. The selection is made on the basis of an assessment of who of the candidates are most relevant considering the requirements of the advertisement. All applicants will be notified within 6 weeks whether or not their applications have been sent to an expert assessment committee for evaluation. The selected applicants will be informed about the composition of the committee and will receive his/her assessment.
Technical Sciences refers to the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Danish Universities under the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. Appointment shall be in accordance with the collective labour agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.
