The laboratory of Tamer Sallam in the Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, invites applications for an Assistant Project Scientist position. The candidate will conduct research on the impact of gene regulation on cardiometabolic diseases such as atherosclerosis, fatty liver, and obesity. Experience with noncoding RNA biology is required. The research activities will entail using cellular, molecular, computational and animal models. Analysis of murine phenotypes in metabolism, transcriptomic data (both Bulk and single cell and single nuclear seq) as well as multi-ome seq and ATAC seq. The candidate will perform in vivo overexpression and loss of function studies. Strong communications skills including presentation of data and preparation of manuscripts is required. A Ph.D. degree is required.
