Lunds universitet
Lund University was founded in 1666 and is repeatedly ranked among the world's top universities. The University has around 46,000 students and 8,500 staff based in Lund, Helsingborg, and Malmö. We are united in our efforts to understand, explain, and improve our world and the human condition.
Diabetes has a major impact on brain function, and increases the risk of developing Parkinson's disease (PD). Our research aims at understanding the molecular mechanisms linking the two diseases, and at identifying novel therapeutic approaches that can benefit patients with comorbid diabetes-PD.
The Diabetes and Brain Function lab at the Department of Experimental Medical Science is located at the BMC, and is active within different research environments of the Faculty of Medicine, namely the LUDC, WCMM, and Multipark.
The recruited researcher will be working on determining cellular mechanisms that regulate neurochemical processes involved in the diabetes-PD association.
We offer an attractive research environment, with close interactions with labs with expertise on diabetes research, neuroscience, and regenerative medicine.
Work duties include planning and conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing data, presenting results at lab meetings and conferences, writing reports and research papers, preparing research proposals, demonstrating procedures and supervising junior team members.
