Associate Professorship of Cancer Biology

We are seeking to appoint an Associate Professor working in the area of the cellular and/or molecular biology of cancer, to be based in Oxford University's Sir William Dunn School of Pathology. The role of Associate Professor is an exciting opportunity to pursue an independent programme of research while also contributing to undergraduate teaching at both departmental and collegiate level. The successful candidate will also be appointed to the Kingsland Fellowship in Medicine (a Tutorial Fellowship) at The Queen's College.

The Dunn School has an outstanding track record in biomedical research, and a particular focus on the fundamental cell and molecular biology underlying a broad range of disease mechanisms. It provides a stimulating and supportive community environment with access to high-quality lab space, as well as excellent scientific facilities and support services, both within the department and the wider Oxford community.

The department is in an exciting period of growth and renewal, so this tenure-track position is an opportunity to help shape and develop its historic strengths in the underlying biology of the causes and treatment of human disease, and to integrate them further with Oxford's thriving biomedical community.

You will have a higher degree (PhD/DPhil) in basic science and/or a medical qualification, and a track record of internationally competitive research and publications, in a research area relevant to cancer. You will have a proven commitment to the training and mentoring of graduate students, together with undergraduate teaching experience, and ideally a track record in both areas. You will also value collegiality and a supportive and diverse working environment.

The Dunn School can offer high-quality laboratory space and funding to cover the post-holder's salary. It may also be possible to negotiate additional initial support.
