The Systems Immunology Lab at Lund University's Faculty of Medicine, Department of Laboratory Medicine, is seeking a curious and motivated candidate with experience in reproductive immunology, with a focus on IVF and women's health, for a postdoctoral position in our research group. The group is led by Associate Senior Lecturer Camila Consiglio and works with high-throughput multi-omics techniques as well as advanced computational methods to study the mechanisms underlying the interaction between the human immune and reproductive systems.
Lund University is a public authority, which means that as an employee you are offered specific benefits, generous annual leave, and an advantageous occupational pension. We also offer flexible working hours, providing good conditions for maintaining a healthy work–life balance.
This postdoctoral project will explore the complex interaction between the immune system and the reproductive system, focusing on how sex hormones influence immune function and reproductive outcomes in women undergoing IVF treatment. Immune profiling will include transcriptomics, epigenomics, proteomics, and high-dimensional cytometric profiling. The role also involves developing and optimizing methods for immune profiling in a wet lab environment, as well as handling clinical samples.
The position also includes coordinating a clinical collaboration to support the establishment and maintenance of a cohort, conducting laboratory experiments to profile the immune system during IVF treatment, supervising students, presenting results at conferences, writing scientific articles, and participating in departmental and network activities such as seminars and retreats. Ultimately, the project aims to provide a deeper understanding of the interplay between the immune and hormonal systems and their importance for both reproductive outcomes and immune health.
