Oxford Population Health (Nuffield Department of Population Health) contains world-renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. The Clinical Trial Service Unit (CTSU) is a major international research institute within Oxford Population Health, and is one of the world's leading centres for research into chronic diseases, especially diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease and cancer.
We are seeking a Clinical Research Fellow to work on ASCEND PLUS, a streamlined randomised placebo-controlled trial designed to test whether prolonged treatment with oral semaglutide reduces cardiovascular events and other complications of diabetes in people with type 2 diabetes who have not previously suffered a myocardial infarction or stroke.
Based at the Clinical Trial Service Unit and Epidemiological Studies Unit, the successful applicant will be part of a strong and established research team that aims to carry out research, which is both of the highest methodological quality and has the greatest possible influence, on treatments in diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
