Senior Staff Associate I Full-time

Responsibilities:

1. Collection of surgical specimens from the operation room
2.  Establish, verify, and document laboratory protocols.
3.  Coordination of research projects, material supplies and equipment maintenance.
4. Facilitate benchtop research and manage clinical information pertaining to research specimens (databases, consent forms, etc.).
5. Perform basic and translational research experiments in the area of pulmonary pathophysiology and lung transplantation
6. Prepare clinical samples for storage (including blood bronchial and broncho-alveolar washings and tissue specimens for analysis) and database logging.
7. Installing and testing new laboratory equipment.
8. Assisting with the design and execution of various experiments.
9. Compile and present results in a brief and efficient approach during weekly lab meetings or as requested.
10. Assist with the preparation of manuscripts and presentations.
11. Communicate amongst both researchers and clinicians and administrative/financial staff.
12. Support other functions as assigned and/or required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in specific research field and 6-10 years’ experience.
