Are you a skilled software engineer with a passion for weather and climate science? Do you love supporting cutting-edge science on domain-specific AI foundation models? Are you ready to organize and process large amounts of Earth system data as well as develop tools to improve the efficiency and user-friendliness of large-scale data handling? The Earth System Data Exploration research group at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) works with many national and international partners on novel machine learning models for weather and climate, such as the WeatherGenerator/EarthGenerator and develops high-end HPC and cloud data infrastructures to support this research.
You will develop workflows and tools to facilitate the production and management of large-scale machine learning training and output datasets in the context of the European EarthGenerator project. Through this you will contribute to the ongoing development of our Jülich MeteoCloud turning it into an open, FAIR and performant service-oriented data infrastructure for Earth System data.
