UCSF School of Medicine and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals Division of Critical Care Medicine, Department of Pediatrics Adjunct, Clinical X, HS Clinical, and In Residence Faculty Series
The Division of Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals is recruiting for faculty positions focused on the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor ranks in the Adjunct, Clinical X, Health Sciences Clinical, or In Residence series. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Selected candidates will join a major academic medical center and established fellowship training program. Primary clinical responsibilities will be in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals San Francisco and Oakland campuses, with active participation in the Department's mission of excellence in patient care, education, and research.
At UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals, the pediatric intensive care units include 20 monitored beds at Mission Bay (San Francisco) and 22 monitored beds in Oakland, along with an 18-bed Cardiac ICU at Mission Bay. These units care for a broad multidisciplinary patient population, including postoperative orthopedic, ENT, neurosurgical, transplant, and trauma patients, as well as children with complex gastrointestinal, hepatology, and other medically fragile conditions. The CICU faculty provide specialized care for infants and children with congenital and acquired heart disease, including postoperative management after cardiothoracic surgery. Continuity of care is supported by pediatric residents, nurse practitioners, and cardiology and critical care fellows, with daily multidisciplinary rounds involving pharmacy, social work, case management, and nutrition services.

For positions that are 51% effort or more: The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $131,200-$344,400. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
For positions that are 50% effort or less: See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $93,700-$246,000.
