Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?
To be a doctoral student means to devote oneself to a research project under supervision of experienced researchers and following an individual study plan. For a doctoral degree, the equivalent of four years of full-time doctoral education is required.
The Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology announces an opportunity to join the research group of Professor Gunilla Karlsson Hedestam as a PhD student in immunology. The group studies adaptive immunity and immunogenetics using a combination of wet lab and computational approaches. For more information, take a look at our website.
The Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology (MTC) at Karolinska Institutet conducts research and teaching within immunology, infection biology, cell biology and cancer. Our key words are multidisciplinary, bridging, national and international collaborations.
The candidate should have documented experience with both wet lab and computational analysis, have a genuine interest in immunology and genetics and be highly self-motivated. The project will use high throughput genotyping techniques, monoclonal antibody isolation, deep immune-repertoire sequencing and a range of genomics techniques to investigate the impact of human immunogenetic variation for biological functions.
