FSP Scientist: Synthetic Molecule Analytical Chemistry Full-time

Job Title

This is a fully onsite role based at our customer's site in South SF, CA. We welcome applicants from all locations within the US.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening.

Our Laboratories Functional Service Partnership (FSP) team plays a direct role in advancing drug development by creating sustained groups of talent within our customers' organizations to provide long-term support.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of routine to complex sample preparation and analysis procedures to quantitatively measure pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical compounds in a variety of formulations and/or biological matrices.
• Perform routine analysis for drug substances, drug products, intermediates as well as starting materials.
• Perform analytical method development and instrument/method troubleshooting as necessary.
• Problem solves with assistance pertaining to extraction and/or instrumentation problems.
• Trains on routine operation, maintenance and theory of analytical instrumentation, SOPs and regulatory procedures and guidelines.
• Manages QC/QA responsibilities without supervisor or QA input.
• Communicates project status to project leader.
• Performs work assignments accurately, and in a timely and safe manner.
• Reviews, interprets, and analyzes data for technical, quality and compliance to protocols, methods, SOPs, client criteria and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in lab sciences such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Material Science, Immunology, Biology, Molecular Biology or similar.
• Scientist: Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2-4 years).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Independently perform analysis using different techniques, including HPLC-UV, HPLC-CAD, LC-MS, PSD.
• Clearly document the experiment using ELN and proactively communicate progress with project lead and collaborators.
• Be comfortable to present the work to the team.
• Knowledge of applicable regulatory authority, compendia and ICH guidelines.
• Ability to understand and independently apply GMPs and/or GLPs to everyday work with regard to documentation and instrument use.
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Excel and Word to perform tasks.
• Ability to independently optimize analytical methods.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Time management and project management skills.
• Problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work in a collaborative work environment with a team.

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $32.89–$37.20.
