Position Description

Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (HS Clinical or Clinical X) Department of Radiation Oncology

Genitourinary/Gynecologic Tumors The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), seeks to recruit a full-time faculty member (MD or MD/PhD) as a clinical and academic radiation oncologist specializing in genitourinary and gynecologic cancers. Appointment will be made at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Health Sciences Clinical or Clinical X series, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Descriptions of these series may be found in the UCSF online Academic Personnel Manual.

The successful candidate will have expertise in the management of genitourinary and gynecologic malignancies, including external beam radiotherapy, stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), and brachytherapy. Experience in brachytherapy for multiple disease sites, with a particular focus on prostate cancer, is highly desirable. The faculty member will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of radiologists, pathologists, urologists, medical oncologists, gynecological oncologists and surgeons to develop and deliver comprehensive, evidence-based treatment plans utilizing advanced imaging, simulation, and treatment technologies.

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must:

• Hold an MD or MD/PhD degree.
• Be board-certified or board-eligible in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR)
• Be eligible for medical licensure and X-ray Supervisor and Operator certification in the State of California
• Have completed an ACGME-accredited Radiation Oncology residency program or be expected to complete training by July 1, 2026.

Preferred Qualifications Preferred candidates will demonstrate:

• A strong commitment to excellence in clinical care, education, and academic scholarship.
• Interest and experience in clinical trial development and participation.
• Expertise in the treatment of genitourinary malignancies, including prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular, and other related cancers.
• Expertise in the treatment of gynecologic malignancies, including cervix, uterus, vagina, vulva, and other related cancers.
• Experience with brachytherapy and image-guided radiation therapy techniques.

Responsibilities The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative multidisciplinary team of Radiation Oncologists, Urologists, Medical Oncologists, Gynecologic Oncologists, Radiologists, and Pathologists. Responsibilities will include:

• Providing outstanding patient-centered care
• Contributing to the growth and advancement of UCSF's clinical and research programs in genitourinary cancers.
• Participating in and developing clinical research and clinical trials.
• Teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, fellows, and other trainees.
• Contributing to departmental educational programs and continuing medical education initiatives.
• Participating in departmental, university, and professional service activities.

Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications, experience, and accomplishments.
