A postgraduate, predoctoral, fellowship is available at the Genome Stability group at the Department of Environment and Health of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità in Rome.
The project will aim to characterize the dynamic interactome of the endonuclease MUS81 and the role of different MUS81 protein-protein interaction during the replication stress response and for chemosensitivity of cancer cells. The project will use biochemical and cell biology approaches in human cell models and in tumour samples. The fellowship is for one year and subjected to yearly renewal for a maximum of three years. Ideally, it may be followed by a 3-year PhD fellowship at the end of the first year.
The starting date is June 2022 at the latest. Applicants must have EU citizenships because of administrative constraints.
The ideal candidate is a highly motived young graduate with < 3 year after obtaining the MSc degree, who is very passionate with science and research, interested in basic mechanisms that are linked to pathology of human diseases and cancer. Proven expertise in human cell culture, molecular cell biology techniques and basic biochemistry is needed.
