An exciting opportunity has become available for a Lecturer to contribute to the research and education effort of the School of Chemistry, within the Faculty of Science at Monash. The Lecturer will lead a research program in analytical and/or physical chemistry with the ultimate focus being to refine and enhance current knowledge and practice in chemistry and science.
The Lecturer will establish a strong independent programme of research, engage in collaboration with other research groups, and seek research funding through the National Competitive Research Grants Schemes and other sources. Any proposed research program should align with and contribute to the School's Strategic Priorities and the University's long term vision as outlined in the Impact 2030 statement.
The Lecturer will lead and participate in innovative teaching programmes, including the initiation and development of subject and course material (with the appropriate advice and support of more senior staff), workshops, tutorials, e-learning, and group teaching. They will be required to undertake year level and/or unit coordination, assessment, student consultation, and supervision and mentoring of PhD students and postdoctoral fellows.
The successful candidate will have a doctoral qualification in Analytical and/or Physical chemistry, a demonstrated track record of research achievements in the chemical sciences and a strong record of teaching experience in a tertiary environment. Applicants with experience in environmental or biological/medicinal chemistry are strongly encouraged.
The Lecturer will have strong interpersonal skills and a well-developed ability to convey information in both teaching and research.
