Classification: Senior Manager 1 (Specialist) Salary package: $138,182 – $144,783 per annum plus 17% superannuation Terms: Full-time, Fixed-term 18 months
Position overview
This position contributes to the University Library's activities, programs, and platforms that support the University's teaching and research. As part of the Library this position will lead the Library in understanding, innovating and deploying AI literacies, identifying and implementing AI driven solutions and the monitoring and evaluating the performance of Library related initiatives.
The Library
The University Library is part of Research Infrastructure and Entities business unit of the Research and Innovation Portfolio. The University Library is a key piece of research infrastructure for researchers and students. The Library consists of Academic Skills, Client Services and the Collection Access and Discovery units.
The Portfolio
The Research and Innovation Portfolio provides leadership and support for the University's research strategy, partnerships and impact agenda. It brings together expertise across research development, infrastructure, researcher training as well as commercialisation, and industry engagement.
The Person
You have a strategic approach to innovation, with a demonstrated capacity to translate innovation into practical, solutions, ideally within a higher education, or research environment.
You are an experienced professional who understands contemporary scholarly practice and the role of research infrastructure in supporting research, teaching, learning, and academic excellence.
You will bring a high-level knowledge of artificial intelligence in GLAM [Galleries, Libraries Archives and Museums] which is grounded in ethics, governance, and evaluation frameworks.
You will have a considered understanding of academic integrity.
You are a collaborative relationship‑builder who can engage confidently with diverse stakeholders across the Library and wider University community, influencing outcomes through clear, respectful communication.
You can guide initiatives from concept to adoption, mentor and coach staff, and will build AI literacy and capability.
