Johnson and Johnson is recruiting for a Materials Science Scientist.

Position Summary:

The Materials Science Scientist is responsible for lifecycle management in commercial manufacturing. The role ensures technical, quality, and business requirements are met to enable robust, compliant supply and product performance. The position acts as a key Materials Science point of contact for product lifecycle activities, supporting material readiness, change management, and external manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive end-to-end lifecycle management of raw materials across commercial products
• Provide technical leadership in supplier/material selection, qualification and issue resolution, in partnership with MSAT, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, Planning, Procurement and other relevant partners.
• Assess impact of supplier and site-driven raw material changes
• Provide materials science input into change controls, comparability, and regulatory impact assessments
• Support product lifecycle activities including non-conformances, investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
• Serve as Materials Science point of contact for internal/external manufacturing sites and CMOs
• Perform and/or review material risk assessments and ensure appropriate control strategies are defined
• Establish and maintain raw material control strategies, including specifications and other documents
• Provide inspection-ready documentation and ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

• MSc or PhD or equivalent in Material Science, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, or related field
• Experience in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment is required
• Understanding of raw materials impact on process and product quality is required
• Experience with investigations, root cause analysis, risk assessments and statistical process controls is required
• Experience working with external manufacturing sites or CMOs is preferred
• Strong collaboration and communication skills is required
• Working knowledge of GMP and applicable regulatory frameworks is required

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€64,000.00 – €103,040.00
