The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco, is recruiting a board-certified or board-eligible, Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist to join our Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine. Qualified candidates must be board certified/eligible in OBGYN and Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the time of hire. The successful candidate will have training and clinical experience in relevant activities, including coverage of the antepartum service and labor and delivery, obstetrical ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis procedures, and perinatal consultation. Excellent communication skills and ability to function in a consultative role are required. Faculty rank and salary are based upon qualifications and experience.
UCSF has many vibrant and growing strategic initiatives involving clinical care, teaching, and research, and faculty have the opportunity to participate according to their interests. This clinical position will include coverage of the antepartum service and labor and delivery, obstetrical ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis procedures, and perinatal consultation. All clinical faculty also participate in our clinical and educational outreach programs. The balance of activities will depend on the candidate's background, skills and interests; we encourage opportunities for individual academic career development. Teaching of medical students, residents, and clinical fellows is also included in this opportunity.
The division has a number of exciting initiatives in which the successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate. These include clinical research activities through the University of California Fetal Maternal Consortium, a multisite collaboration focused on research and quality initiatives involving maternal-fetal medicine and fetal therapy of the five University of California Medical Centers. We have a major Preterm Birth Initiative, an established multidisciplinary Center for Maternal-Fetal Precision Medicine, and an expanding Center for Complex Obstetric Medicine to provide multidisciplinary care for high-risk pregnancies. We have recently joined the Maternal Fetal Medicine Units Network, providing an opportunity for faculty to participate in MFMU studies and activities. There are significant efforts in genetics and genomics across the Department and the University, and prenatal genetics are a major part of such efforts. Our department, in collaboration with the Fetal Treatment Center and Pediatric Cardiology, is expanding our outreach efforts and growing these clinical opportunities.
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $131,200-$344,400. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
