This supervisory role will include supply ordering, mouse colony management, equipment maintenance, training of new lab members, and overseeing research projects, among other scientific and administrative tasks. The individual will also be responsible for safety aspects of the lab and ensuring animal and lab safety protocols are written and up to date. Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to lead and direct others, particularly undergraduates in the lab and PhD rotation students. The individual in this role will also contribute scientifically to a number of projects, including their own independent project if desired, through performing intracranial surgeries, tissue collection and processing, histology, neuronal tracing experiments, chemo/optogenetic experiments, behavioral testing, and fiber photometry. While training in all of these techniques is not required, the candidate should have some wet lab and/or rodent behavioral experience and be passionate about neuroscience research.
Ideally, this would be a long-term position. However, we will also consider individuals who can serve in the position for two or more years (ideal for individuals seeking additional laboratory experience before applying to graduate or medical school). This will be a full-time position (40 hours/week). Salary will be determined based on education attained and previous experience. While a Masters Degree (MS) in a Biomedical discipline is preferred, applicants with Bachelors Degrees will also be considered. The position also includes a competitive benefits package. We would like the chosen candidate to join the lab at or around early January 2027.
