This is an extremely hands-on role for someone who wants to help build a material that transforms entire industries and combats industrial deforestation. Your main focus will be on tuning of the material properties. It is a unique opportunity with a lot of creative autonomy.
Through iterations your work will focus on tuning properties like strength and color of the worlds first ever cultured wood. These prototypes will be small and geared towards high-end applications. The work of our plant biologists, geneticist and biophysicist will all converge in your hands, into tangible prototypes. The learnings we gain here will flow back to the rest of the team. Your work can make or break New Dawn’s technical progress.
This is not a classic job. It is a unique opportunity to make real-world impact, while being an early contributor and a part of a strong and dedicate team.
We are seeking an individual with a strong understanding of both physics and biology, who can effectively bridge the two disciplines. You will explore a large variety of solution spaces, design and run experiments. In a lot of ways, we are looking for a “full-stack” biotechnologist that has:
Although not required, we do consider it bonus if you have:
Our culture is not for everybody, and that is by design. Each and every one of us comes here to do the best work of our lives. We are not a family, but rather a high-performance athletics team geared towards winning the championship, together.
