The Moayedi lab in the Pain Research Center at New York University College of Dentistry (New York, NY) is seeking a Junior Research Scientist to study mechanisms of mechanotransduction and functional outcomes related to loss of mechanosensation. The lab uses a combination of molecular biology, advanced microscopy, in vivo functional imaging, physiology, and behavior in animal models and humans. The researcher will assist with rodent husbandry (colony maintenance, genotyping, performing injections, assessing animal health, maintaining records), somatosensory behavior, histology (whole mount and sliced preparations, immunohistochemistry), data analysis, and preparing figures.
Responsibilities will include carrying out experiments, analyzing and presenting data, rodent colony maintenance, ordering, general lab upkeep and assisting with training new lab members. Strong laboratory and analytical skills, effective written and oral communication, and efficient project management are essential. Experience with rodent somatosensory behavior and imaging are highly desirable.
Qualifications
