Multiple PhD opportunities are available within the ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre (ITTC) for Sustainable and Green Economy Manufacturing (SAGE-M). These are industry-connected placements at the forefront of sustainable chemistry, catalysis, and advanced manufacturing. Current available projects are:
Successful candidates will be working alongside leading academics and industry partners and have access to world-class facilities, interdisciplinary training and real-world industry engagement. Applicants will be considered provided that they fulfil the criteria for PhD admission at Monash University and demonstrate excellent research capability. Details of the relevant requirements are available at www.monash.edu/graduate-research/study/apply. A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Electrochemistry, Physics, or a relevant and related area.
Applicants must show excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to conduct self-motivated research within a group of high-performing and target-driven researchers. They should have a research-based Honours or Masters Degree (or equivalent) in the relevant research areas and preferably have a record of publishing their research in mainstream scientific journals. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in person or over Zoom if necessary. The interviews will be conducted in English. Scholarship holders must be enrolled full-time and on campus. Please note: applicants who already hold a PhD will not be considered.
The successful applicant will be expected to enrol by September 2026, with some flexibility according to circumstances.
