Are you interested in combination of transition metal catalysis, and can you contribute to the development of materials for CO2 capture and utilisation? Then the Skrydstrup Group at the Department of Chemistry, Aarhus University invites you to apply for a 1-year Post Doctoral position (37 hours/week) starting from February 1st, 2027.
This is a 1-year Post Doctoral position (37 hours/week) from 01.02.2027.
You will be contributing to the development of catalytic methods based on transition metal catalysis applied to the conversion of specific plastic types to carbon capture materials. The position will focus on different catalytic processes and improving their performance for upscaling the production of CO2 capture materials, and then their combined use in CO2 capture and conversion. You will be involved in independent and collaborative projects dealing with the combined carbon capture and conversion. These activities will be in close collaboration with other members of the CORC research centre working in the field of CO2 capture and utilisation.
The candidate must have a PhD in synthetic chemistry or similar. The candidate is required to have a strong background in organic synthesis and transition metal catalysis. The candidate must be familiar with organometallic chemistry and the synthesis of organometallic complexes. The candidate must have experiences with the technologies for carbon capture and utilisation. The candidate must have good communication skills and experience in writing drafts for publications. The candidate must have experience with international collaborations. The candidate must be able to work both independently but also serve as an excellent team player.
The candidate will be part of the Skrydstrup group, an international group consisting of approximately 4 Post Docs and 8 PhD students, among other students and academic and technical staff. The group is part of the Department of Chemistry and the Novo Nordisk Foundation CO2 Research Center (CORC).
The successful candidate is offered: a well-developed research infrastructure, laboratories and access to shared equipment; an exciting interdisciplinary environment with many national, international and industrial collaborators; a research climate encouraging lively, open and critical discussion within and across different fields of research; a work environment with close working relationships, networking and social activities; a workplace characterised by professionalism, equality and a healthy work-life balance.
The place of work is Department of Chemistry, Gustav Wieds Vej 14, 8000 Aarhus C, and the area of employment is Aarhus University with related departments.
For further information, please contact: Professor Troels Skrydstrup, +45 28 99 21 32, ts@chem.au.dk.
The application must be submitted via Aarhus University's recruitment system, which can be accessed under the job advertisement on Aarhus University's website.
