The University of Copenhagen is seeking an experienced Postdoc to commence on September 1, 2026, or after agreement, for the Hansen Group at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR), University of Copenhagen.
The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR) is an academic research Center that pioneers groundbreaking research towards better cardiometabolic health. Through collaborative interdisciplinary research from single-cell genomics to whole-body systems, CBMR aims to transform the basic understanding of cardiometabolic health and accelerate its translation into prevention and treatment strategies. The Center's uniquely multi- and interdisciplinary approach combines research in genetics, physiology and pharmacology, to better understand the complex interplay of the many factors that drive cardiometabolic disease.
CBMR was established in 2010 at the Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences and has been located in the Maersk Tower at the Panum building since 2017. The around 260 employees create an international, highly collaborative research environment across disciplines.
The Hansen Group investigates the human genome and the human global microbiome to characterize the impact of these genomes on health and disease and to identify interactions between the host and the microbiome.
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Postdoc fellow to join the Carpe-Diem project. This ambitious initiative aims to study the interaction between oral and cardiometabolic diseases by integrating registry data, large-scale GWAS, metaproteomics, metagenomics and other omics datasets, and data from human clinical trials.
As part of our highly collaborative team, the successful candidate will actively engage with other Carpe-Diem subprojects and contribute to the shared scientific vision. The successful candidate will lead key aspects of the assigned subproject, coordinate closely with internal and external stakeholders, and play an active part in translating scientific goals into concrete research activities.
