Location: AUSTIN, TX

General Notes: PhD must have been received within the past 3 years. This is a training position that can be renewed annually, for a maximum of five years, based upon performance review, progress towards research goals, and continuation of funding.

Purpose: Carry out research in RNA biology and novel reverse transcriptase, with RNA-seq, diagnostic, and genome engineering or structural biology.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct independent research in RNA biology, RNA analysis, and RNA diagnostic or structural biology using a wide variety of techniques, such recombinant DNA, biochemical assays, isolation of RNA and DNA, PCR, RT-qPCR, reporter assays, protein expression and purification, in vitro mutagenesis, and RNA sequencing and data analysis or structural biology.
• Provide instruction, assistance and mentoring to graduate students.
• Write manuscripts and assist in the preparation of reports, abstracts, manuscripts and proposals. make presentations at lab meetings, attend lab meetings and other meetings.

Required Qualifications

PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, structural biology or closely related field. PhD must have been received within the past 3 years.

Preferred Qualifications

Outstanding record of research productivity in the above fields.

Salary Range

$60,782+ depending on qualifications and experience
