A healthier future. It's what drives us to innovate. To continuously advance science and ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need today and for generations to come. Creating a world where we all have more time with the people we love. That's what makes us Genentech.
The Opportunity:
A postdoctoral fellow position is available for a highly motivated and independent scientist to join the laboratory of Dr. Scott Foster in the Department of Discovery Oncology at Genentech to answer fundamental questions related to cancer biology and cellular metabolism.
The Foster Lab is dedicated to deciphering the mechanistic connection underlying novel cancer cell dependencies and synthetic lethal interactions that offer high potential for therapeutic exploitation. In this role, you will employ a diverse range of molecular and cell biology techniques to explore fundamental cancer cell biology related to cellular metabolism, in particular redox biology. You will have access to state-of-the-art technologies and will be able collaborate with other researchers across the organization to accelerate research progress and foster interdisciplinary knowledge. In addition, you will have access to Genentech's rich environment of core facilities, including animal modeling, protein chemistry and computational biology. As a former Genentech postdoc, I can attest to the outstanding training and mentorship available through this program. The program provides ample opportunities to present your work both internally and externally, career development support, and exposure to an environment with a broad focus, ranging from basic science to drug development, with the goal to accelerate breakthrough discoveries.
