The Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is seeking applicants for a full-time postdoctoral position. The candidate will conduct research on the human antibody and B cell response to H. Pylori infection and rational vaccine design of H. Pylori and malaria vaccines. Ideal candidates will be experienced in human and or mouse B cell biology and use of the following approaches including high-parameter flow cytometry, single-cell RNA sequencing, B cell culture, genetic modification of human/mouse B cells, CRISPR/cas9, sterile technique for mammalian tissue culture with BSL-2+ practices, and ELISA/ELI spot. Bioinformatics knowledge is preferred but is not required. Candidate must be open to learning systems immunology and human antibody approaches including systems serology, antibody cloning and purification, and BLI/SPR binding assays. The candidate should be comfortable working with BSL2+ biospecimens, including cells, plasma, gastric fluid, stool, gastric biopsies, and saliva, from patients. A Ph.D. is required.
The shared values of the DGSOM are expressed in the Cultural North Star, which was developed by members of our community and affirms our unswerving commitment to doing what's right, making things better, and being kind. These are the standards to which we hold ourselves, and one another.
