A two-year postdoctoral position is open in the laboratory of Asst. Professor Kelli Hvorecny. The candidate will join the newly established laboratory and lead projects investigating the conservation of enzyme assemblies across evolution and the cellular triggers and regulation of assembly.
The two-year position is fully funded with an anticipated start date of the 1st of September 2026 or soon thereafter.
The candidate will be joining the Linderstrøm-Lang Centre for Protein Science with a vibrant and collegial environment and will help set the culture and organization of a newly established laboratory in the Centre. The group is a part of the Section for Biomolecular Sciences in the Department of Biology, part of the Faculty of Science at the University of Copenhagen, in Copenhagen, Denmark. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in dynamic and international research environment. Our research facilities include modern laboratories and access to state-of-the-art equipment in the Center for Advanced Bioimaging and the Core Facility for Integrated Bioimaging. Together, the facilities house a Titan Krios, a Glacios, and a Helios Hydra along with several additional screening microscopes, full facilities for sample preparation, and a large suite of advanced light microscopes.
The candidate's duties will include designing and running experiments as well as data analysis within the fields of protein biochemistry, structural biology, and cell biology. The candidate will also support the teaching and mentoring of other trainees in the laboratory. The candidate is expected to take initiative driving projects and to collaborate with the other group members and across the Section. Prior use of R for data analysis and plotting and experience with fluorescence microscopy is a plus. Emphasis will also be placed on interpersonal qualities, including analytical capacity and communication, accuracy, flexibility, and collaborative and mentoring skills.
The position is open from the 1st of September 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
