A postdoctoral position is available immediately at the laboratory of Dr. Choudhury in the Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at WashU in St. Louis. The Choudhury lab investigates the cellular, molecular, and metabolic mechanisms involved in the development of fibrotic disorders, including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, using novel mouse models and human precision-cut lung slices to study how metabolic networks may reveal disease- and context-specific targets for selectively interrupting pathological cellular functions and how these metabolic adaptations may be targeted therapeutically. Our research employs cell signaling and metabolism, fibroblast-immune cell crosstalk, metabolomics, mitochondrial biology, molecular and cellular biology, genetically modified mice, lung fibrosis models, single-cell RNA sequencing, and epigenetics. We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral candidate with prior experience in biochemistry and cell and molecular biology; a background in immunology and expertise in flow cytometry and cell sorting and single-cell RNA sequencing are strongly preferred.
