Postdoctoral Researcher FAIR (Finding and Adapting methods of Inclusive Research)

The Department has a substantial research programme, with major funding from Medical Research Council (MRC), Wellcome Trust and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). The Head of Department is Professor Belinda Lennox.

This is an exciting opportunity for a postdoctoral researcher to join the FAIR (Finding and Adapting methods of Inclusive Research) led by Dr Roisin Mooney. This research aims to develop and share ways for researchers and young people to work together. This will be achieved through three specific aims; to explore ways of gathering stories by working with schools, to develop a toolkit to help young people and researchers work together and to better understand experiences of autistic people who feel under represented.

The post is available on a flexible hybrid basis.

About the Role

The post is fixed-term for 18 months and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital. You will contribute to the delivery of the Oxford-led research project, working closely with Dr Mooney and in collaboration with co-applicants and the wider research team. You will support and undertake key research activities across the project lifecycle, including study setup, delivery of training (including for people with lived experience), data collection and monitoring, analysis, and contributing to dissemination and publication outputs.

About You

You will have or be close to the completion of a PhD applied health, neuroscience, social science, or or related discipline, together with relevant experience. You will possess specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes. You will have experience of working with people with lived experience (of mental or physical health conditions) as equal partners. You will also possess excellent data analysis skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and evidence of strong scientific writing. Experience of independently managing a discrete area of a research project is desirable.
