Principal Data Analyst

Dell Medical School is seeking a Principal Data Analyst. This is a state-funded position with an end date of 08/31/27, renewable based on funding and work performance.

The Principal Data Analyst is an advanced individual contributor recognized for deep expertise in healthcare analytics and data science, this role applies specialized knowledge and extensive experience to solve complex problems, lead enterprise-level projects, and influence strategic decisions. Serving as a subject matter expert, the Principal Data Analyst partners with executive leadership, governance committees, and key stakeholders to align analytics strategies with organizational priorities. This position provides expert guidance on advanced methodologies, emerging technologies, and best practices, driving innovation through predictive modeling, AI-driven analytics, and integration of complex data ecosystems. This role ensures analytics solutions deliver measurable impact across clinical, operational, and financial domains.

Marginal or Periodic Functions:

• Leads vendor evaluations and proof of concepts (POCs) for advanced analytics platforms, AI tools, and data engineering solutions.
• Presents enterprise analytics outcomes and methodologies at national conferences, professional societies, and internal executive forums.
• Conducts post implementation reviews and analytics audits to validate model performance, data quality, and control effectiveness.
• Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.

Education & Experience:

Minimum Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Public Health, or related field with at least 8 year(s) of experience in healthcare analytics or data science, including leadership of enterprise-level projects. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in a quantitative or healthcare-related discipline or Ph.D. in a quantitative or healthcare-related discipline with at least 10 year(s) of experience in a complex healthcare environment with demonstrated impact on organizational strategy.

Licenses, Registrations or Certifications Required: None. Preferred: Advanced Cloud Data Analytics Certification (Azure, AWS, Google) or equivalent.

Salary Range:

$114,507+ depending on qualifications
