The 340B Drug Pricing program has become an increasingly important area of focus impacting AbbVie's business. Originally designed to help safety-net hospitals and clinics provide better care to underserved communities, the program has grown significantly in scale and complexity. As a result, AbbVie has established a high profile, 340B Center of Excellence (COE), that brings together a team of experts who leverage analytics, insights, and innovative solutions to support strategy, strengthen program oversight, and address emerging industry challenges. The 340B COE Principal Data Scientist will join the team with deep expertise in the business and operations of the 340B program. The team is responsible for maintaining and strengthening AbbVie's 340B program, developing reporting and dashboards to track performance and entity eligibility compliance, managing duplicate discount detection and remediation, supporting covered entity eligibility policy, and building models to assess the impact of policy changes, initiatives, and government actions. This role will develop advanced analytics, outlier detection, new tools, models, and platforms to monitor 340B performance and forecast future trends.
We are seeking an experienced Principal Data Scientist to lead advanced analytical initiatives supporting AbbVie's 340B Center of Excellence. This high-impact individual contributor role operates at a Senior Manager level and will drive strategic insights, develop scalable analytical solutions, and partner with cross-functional teams to support enterprise decision making. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in healthcare and pharmaceutical data, including familiarity with the 340B program, along with strong analytical rigor and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
