The Department of Public Health at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Aarhus University, invites applications for a position at the level of full Professor or Associate Professor. The expected start date is January 1st 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is a full-time permanent position.
The candidate will contribute to the Faculty of Health Sciences' strategic priorities within innovation and collaboration by building innovation capacity and developing collaboration with external parties. The candidate will be part of an innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem at Aarhus University (AU). AU is currently strengthening its strategic efforts within innovation and entrepreneurship. This effort is a direct extension of AU's Strategy 2030, in which research-based innovation and entrepreneurship constitute a central strategic focus area. With the aim of expanding AU's capacity to link research and innovation, the university leadership has decided to create a number of new research and innovation positions across the university. The newly created positions are intended to help integrate an innovation mindset into the university culture, while at the same time producing concrete, visible impact and societal benefit.
The Department of Public Health is research-intensive and has a strong international and collaborative orientation. Our research spans theoretical, basic, and applied sciences, with the goal of generating impactful knowledge and improving population health. We are built on a foundation of academic excellence, and we are committed to conducting rigorous, innovative, high-quality teaching. The department is responsible for teaching at public health science, sports science, nursing science, health science, and for a significant part of teaching in the medicine program.
We are firmly rooted in our academic disciplines and actively foster interdisciplinary collaboration to drive innovation and excellence in both research and teaching. The successful candidate will strengthen the department's research, innovation and research-based teaching within health services research and contribute to the academic development at Aarhus University and to the university's profile both nationally and internationally.

Your competences
You have established yourself as a prominent researcher within your scientific field and can document research and teaching qualifications at a high international level. You have a network of international partners, experience in attracting significant research funding from national and international funding bodies, and a potential of becoming a skilled research leader. In the hiring process, we place particular emphasis on professional experience gained through employment or extended research stays at internationally recognized universities or research institutions outside the candidate's primary place of employment.

The successful candidate has a strong international network and demonstrated experience in interdisciplinary collaboration across health services research, digital health and leadership.
We expect you to be fluent in oral and written English. International applicants are expected to learn Danish, and Aarhus University arranges Danish teaching.
