Project Engineer

START Centre (NTUitive Pte Ltd) is looking for a Project Engineer responsible for leading and supporting projects involving the project planning and execution, operation and upkeep of machinery and equipment used in membrane fabrication, testing, and pilot transfer. This role plays a pivotal role in executing the technology validation part of the translation process and requires experience in project execution, process operation and optimization, and pilot transfer of the translated technologies on pilot scale in collaboration with IHL's and industry.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Lead and support projects involving the project planning and execution, operation and upkeep of machinery and equipment used in membrane fabrication, testing, and pilot transfer.
• Develop technical expertise and be the go-to engineer for process and system design for gas membrane separation technology, hollow-fibre potting, and gas membrane/module testing.
• Drive and execute assigned tasks related to membrane translation projects, membrane QC validation, daily minimum maintenance of membrane fabrication equipment and membrane module fabrication from small scale modules up to industrial scale modules.
• Operate in-house pilot system to evaluate the performance of membrane modules of new technologies including test protocol preparation and process parameter optimization
• Support and contribute to discussions leading to engineering and process flow design for processes and operations.
• Stay abreast with state-of-art developments in membrane separation technologies.
• Prepare, operationalize, and maintain SOP's pertaining to membrane processes.
• Support and execute preventive maintenance procedures for membrane fabrication and testing equipment, in accordance with equipment requirements as recommended by vendors / suppliers.
• Support procurement of parts and/or securing of services for preventive or breakdown maintenance works where applicable.
• Uphold strict compliance with Environment, Safety and Health regulations.
• Present regular project progress to collaborators and different relevant parties.

Requirements:

• Degree/diploma in Electrical/Chemical/Mechanical/Environmental Engineering.
• Preferably 3 years of experience in project execution in new product introduction and/or process operation and optimization.
• Knowledge in design, operations, and process optimization of skids for water and non-water treatment applications.
• Knowledge of, and strong adherence to high Environmental Health and Safety standards.
• Experience in O&G/Pharmaceutical/Manufacturing production.
• Experience in membrane science and membrane processes.
• Experience in flat sheet and hollow fiber membrane/module fabrication testing especially for water and gas applications is a strong advantage.
• Trained in or familiar with health, safety and environment (HSE) practices/protocols, e.g. safety risk assessment, LOTO etc.
• Project Management skills and able to collect, compile and communicate technical information effectively to different parties.
• Keen interest in water/non-water membrane technologies.

• Good communication, oral and written skills.
• Inquisitive and possess hands-on problem-solving attitude.
• Able to liaise with contractors and vendors for upgrading and maintenance work.
