We are seeking to appoint experienced and motivated Project Manager to support a major new international programme in Parkinson's disease research. Funded by an award from the Aligning Science Across Parkinson's (ASAP) Initiative, this Oxford-led consortium brings together leading groups at the Universities of Zurich and Surrey, and Harvard University. The programme seeks to define the neural mechanisms underlying sleep and circadian rhythm disturbances in Parkinson's disease, integrating electrophysiological and behavioural studies in animal models and in people with Parkinson's. A central feature of the project will be open, collaborative science and the sharing of data and resources to accelerate discovery.
Reporting to the Coordinating Lead Principal Investigator, Professor Andrew Sharott, the post-holder will be based at the MRC Centre of Excellence in Restorative Neural Dynamics (CoRE RND) and Brain Network Dynamics Unit (BNDU). They will play a central role in the strategic and operational coordination of the consortium. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team in Oxford and partner institutions, together with collaborators across the ASAP Collaborative Research Network (CRN), an international, multidisciplinary, multi-institutional network working to address high-priority research questions about Parkinson's disease, supported by ASAP, in partnership with The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (MJFF). Responsibilities will include overseeing day-to-day project delivery, tracking milestones, leading internal communications, data management and acting as the primary liaison with ASAP and its partners at the MJFF.
The role offers a unique opportunity for scientifically trained candidates to gain high-level experience in project management within a world-class research environment.
This post is fixed-term until 31 May 2029 and is available immediately. The University is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive working environment.
