Postdoctoral Researcher – Biochemistry and Cell biology Full-time NEW

The laboratory of Dr. Xing Liu in the Department of Biochemistry at Purdue University is seeking highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join an interdisciplinary and mechanistic research program. The laboratory integrates biochemistry, biophysics, cell biology, quantitative proteomics, and chemical biology to investigate mechanisms regulating dynamic protein complex remodeling, protein ubiquitination, and cellular signaling. The laboratory uses both mammalian and plant model systems to study dynamic protein regulatory networks and how they contribute to human health and biological regulation. 

Essential Qualifications

• Ph.D. with strong research training in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, or related disciplines
• Deep understanding of molecular principles governing macromolecular interactions and activities
• At least one first-author research article published in a reputable peer-reviewed journal
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong motivation, scientific curiosity, and enthusiasm for research

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable:

• Protein biochemistry and structure-function analysis
• Mammalian cell biology, including stem cell-related research
• CRISPR-based genome engineering
• Molecular biology and molecular engineering
• Proteomics or mass spectrometry 
• Quantitative thinking and reasoning
