Applications are invited for a post-doctoral research associate in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Purdue University in the laboratory of Prof. Casey J. Krusemark. Candidates skilled in one or more of the following areas: synthetic organic chemistry, biochemistry, enzymology, chemical biology, bioconjugate chemistry are encouraged to apply. The position requires a PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, or a related field of study that has equipped the applicant with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the duties of the position. The two main project areas of interest are synthesis of DNA-encoded combinatorial libraries and design of DNA-based biochemical assays. The responsibilities of a postdoctoral scientist may include small molecule synthesis and purification (both on and off DNA), solid-phase peptide synthesis, protein purification, basic molecular biology, DNA sequence analysis, manuscript preparation, and laboratory management.
