The Space and Geophysics Laboratory (SGL) delivers multi-platform software suites to government customers for multiple and varied applications, from real-time data-intensive network operations to standalone remote field systems, in both Linux and Windows environments. We are seeking a developer with a solid understanding of object-oriented design, databases, and data structures to join our team. As a member of the team you will be designing, implementing and maintaining software using C++.
Responsibilities include providing detailed software design in a team environment, performing implementation from detailed design, performing unit, regression, and integration testing as appropriate, creating/maintaining application documentation, and other related functions as assigned.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other applied science, three or more years of experience as a C++ developer in a Linux environment, experience with Python and the Numpy / Scipy stacks, thorough understanding of object-oriented programming concepts, ability to debug software at all stages of development life cycle, and experience in Object-Oriented design and multi-threaded programming.
US Citizen. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position.
Salary range is $104,000-$174,000+/negotiable depending on qualifications.
Working conditions include standard office conditions, repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation, use of manual dexterity, some weekend, evening and holiday work, and possible interstate/intrastate travel.
