Research Assistant Position

We are looking for a research assistant to support research works in COEB. The role will focus on developing the low-dimensional nanophotonics, focusing on the near-field, nonlinear and quantum optical properties of emerging low-dimensional materials.

The researcher will work on a project focused on the development of low-dimensional nanophotonic structures for nano-optical applications.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct research and develop theoretical models for nanophotonic systems based on low-dimensional materials.
• Perform numerical simulations, design photonic nanostructures, and carry out related experimental measurements.
• Build and optimize optical setups for characterizing material and device properties.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and contribute to joint research projects.
• Conduct quantum and nonlinear optical experiments.
• Assist the principal investigator (PI) in laboratory and research group management.

Job requirements:

• Bachelors degree in optical/device physics, electrical engineering, materials science, or a related field with low-dimensional nanophotonics. Excellent publication records will be preferred.
• Experience in matlab, MEEP, RCWA and other softwares and algorithms.
• Excellent publication track records.
• Good understanding of nonlinear and quantum optics.
• Strong knowledge of optical physics, while experimental experience would be preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage projects, and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to scientific rigor.
• Excellent experience of quantum and nonlinear photonic experiments
