We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Research Assistant to join our research team working on the development and application of surrogate broodstock technologies in fishes. The postholder will contribute to an established research programme, undertaking laboratory and experimental research activities while supporting the wider objectives of the group.
You will conduct research on surrogate broodstock technologies in fishes within an established research programme. You will plan, perform, and analyse experiments, adapting protocols and selecting appropriate methodologies as required. You will be maintaining accurate records of experimental work and research outputs is a key duty. You will present research findings at meetings and conferences and represent the research group to internal and external stakeholders.
About you: You must have a first degree in Biology or a closely related discipline, together with relevant research experience. You will have sufficient specialist knowledge to contribute effectively to research in evolutionary developmental biology, reproductive technologies, or a related discipline. Demonstrated ability to manage research activities independently is essential. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write text that can be published, present data at conferences, and represent the research group at meetings are a must. You will have experience establishing surrogate broodstock technologies in fishes.
