Research Assistant (RAsst) at Earth Observatory of Singapore

The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Research Assistant (RAsst) to join the 'Integrating Volcano and Earthquake Science and Technology (InVEST) in Southeast Asia' project, a 5-year project that aims to provide a holistic understanding of regional tectonics, volcanoes, the linkages between the two, and their cascading hazards and impacts in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Asst Prof Lujia FENG and focus on tectonic and earthquake research for the Southeast Asian Ring of Fire.

Key Responsibilities:

• Processing and analyzing GNSS data for tectonic and earthquake studies
• Processing and analyzing creepmeter data for tectonic and earthquake studies
• Contributing to publication of scientific results in peer-reviewed journals
• Engaging in collaborative discussions with InVEST team members and collaborators
• Contributing to InVEST meetings and reports

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Earth science, Geophysics, Geodesy or a closely related field
• Proficiency in computational methods, with experience in programming using Fortran, MATLAB, and/or Python
• Meticulous with a keen eye for detail and high level of accuracy
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with a strong sense of team spirit.
• As position requires stakeholder engagement in English, candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
