The Division of Clinical Geriatrics is a vibrant research environment with over 100 researchers located across the Neo building at Campus Flemingsberg and the Q-building at Campus Solna. Our research focuses on aging and cognitive impairment, with a strong emphasis on early diagnosis, prevention, and therapeutics. We collaborate closely with leading institutions and clinics worldwide and maintain a strong connection with the Unit for Cognitive Disorders at Karolinska University Hospital.
The Nordberg and Chiotis Lab is a multidisciplinary team of over 10 members with extensive expertise in biomarker research for Alzheimer's disease and other dementia disorders. Our work focuses on the translational development of novel neuroimaging biomarkers to understand the molecular mechanisms behind neuronal cell loss and cognitive impairment. By analyzing clinical, cognitive, imaging, and biospecimen data, we aim to improve diagnosis and clinical care for patients with cognitive disorders. The lab is located in the Neo building at KI Campus Flemingsberg.
The Research Assistant position is a one-year fixed-term appointment in which you will play a key role in our ongoing research projects. Your responsibilities will include processing and quality control of neuroimaging data (PET and MRI), managing and analyzing research datasets, and compiling and presenting research findings. You will also contribute to the coordination of research projects and the preparation of materials for scientific publications and conference presentations.
The role further involves supporting documentation and scientific writing, maintaining and quality-assuring research databases, and ensuring that studies are conducted in accordance with established protocols and regulations. You will actively participate in research meetings and scientific discussions and have the opportunity to work with advanced biomarker data in an international research environment under the supervision of Assistant Professor Konstantinos Chiotis.
