The Institute of Environmental Medicine at Karolinska Institutet conducts research on how environmental factors affect human health. We are looking for a research assistant to contribute to epidemiological studies using population-based survey data linked to modelled and spatial environmental exposure information.
You will manage and analyse epidemiological and environmental exposure data, conduct statistical and sensitivity analyses in R, and prepare reproducible code, tables, figures and analytical documentation. The work may include transportation noise, annoyance, sleep-related outcomes, residential characteristics and urban greenery. The employment is a fixed-term position at 50–60% for up to six months. The work may also include flexible modelling of exposure-response relationships and the preparation of clear data visualisations and, where appropriate, interactive dashboards.
You must have a master's degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health or a related field, together with documented experience of analysing epidemiological or population-based data in R. You should be able to manage complex data, apply regression methods, document reproducible analyses, work independently and collaborate effectively. Good written and spoken English is required.
Experience in environmental or noise epidemiology, linked survey and geocoded exposure data, non-linear modelling, interaction or stratified analyses, or spatial indicators of greenery and the built environment is considered meritorious. Particular emphasis will be placed on analytical ability, accuracy, independence and collaborative skills. Experience in flexible exposure-response modelling, data visualisation or the development of interactive dashboards is also considered meritorious. We place great importance on personal suitability.
